Where are localhost cookies?

'm trying to track down a cookie related problem with an application. I ran the application using a localhost url and then looked in the cookies folder for the cookie. There was no cookie there. The application is logging that it received the cookie. So I'm mystified, where is the cookie? The cookie I'm interested in is the session id cookie, is this treated differently by IE?

Cookies found, sort of

I'm answering my own question here in case someone comes upon this discussion via a search.

Session cookies are kept in memory so there is no physical cookie file or entry in a cookies file for session cookies. I'm not sure how you would see these cookies with IE. I eventually was able to see my cookies and diagnose my problem using Firefox which has a cookie viewer.
