Dear Sir,

I have an excel file created by my own which has 3 tabs.
on a hurry when i tried to open the same, (I have not seen the extension some how changed to .xlsx), but still i opened the same with openwith to excel application.
the file opened but with unknown format and one single tab.
later i closed and changed the extension and tried to open but still the same data. Please let me know how to get back to the my original file.
the file is very imporatant for me. Please help me.

The only way to change a .xlsx filr to a .xls file is to open it in Excel 2007 and do a saveas with the file type set to .xls

Hopefully you can change the extension back and try this.
