What to do with the guest account

Ok so I was cheering about getting my XP desktop to network with my 98SE notebook...feeling all good ..Right...

In order for it to work I needed to enable my guest account...so things are good for a couple of day then yesterday after playing around (games email and studying) my Nortons 2002 comes up with a nimda hit...all over my C (fat32 data running ME), I am logged on to XP as my user....the problem is the Guest account is the one showing up as infected user all over my C:... My D: drive is fine (main drive NTFS running XP pro)...so after it telling me that about 50 files on c are infected I download Nimda removal from sysmantec and run it...NO virus found...the file that were infected are not there (did a search for the files refrence in Nortons log)...so I belive I am clean...but here is the main problem...how do you disable the guest account like ALL the security pros say...and have the computer see each other and not prompt you for a password when you try to browse from desktop to laptop....- sorry if I confuse any one

Rename the account to something else.
that was the first thing I did...so why is Norton's showing as the "Guest" account is the one that is infected...it drives me nuts:confused:
Things that make you go, hmmmm. I don't know.
