Hey all,
I am a new member of this forum, and have joined to ask about some things to do with making a desktop computer.
I have tried google for what I am looking for, and, although having found some good sites, I have not found what I am looking for. I am looking for a site which lists all the parts needed in a computer, gives some tips on getting each one, some good companies to buy from, and, most importantly, says what stats of each part are good for doing what kind of thing (Like: The faster, in terms of MHz and GHz, the processors are really useful for gaming [I am not sure if this is true, it is just an example]). It would be great if someone could link me to something, or maybe even scrawl down a quick list themselves .
Below, I will post some things about what I want my computer to do, in case anyone wants to tell me what sort of parts are good for what I want .
As for budget, I am looking at £400-£500. (English moneyz). I can probably push that up a bit however, if I can find a great computer.
I would like a computer which can do several things at once: I like my multitasking.
I do some gaming, but nothing extreme. I would love to play a game like TF2 without lag, but I am not looking into the Far Cry 3 sort of stuff. I also want to be able to play minecraft without lag either, as well as being able to use mcedit to change a lot of things at once, and I would like that to be fast, if possible.
I would also like to be able to record, edit, render and upload my gameplay: nothing major here, I would just like a computer which can do that.
I am starting to look into things like making electronic music, and using my trusty tablet to do some paint-tool SAI stuff. I don't want to go big here, but I am looking at stuff which can do that. This might mean something like a soundcard and a good desktop, or something.
Most importantly: I want to be very up-gradable. So, lets say I have it and am looking into making music to higher standard, I want to be easily able to add something to my system to make it possible. The same goes for video editing, and also gaming. Maybe I will start playing more graphics intensive games later down the line. I want to have this computer for a while.
Also: With all the stuff there, I would need quite a few USB ports (keyboard, mouse, iPod, tablet, musical keyboard, memory stick(s) and maybe some other stuff down the line, so I kinds need at least 6 ports there, but I could probably get a USB split-er thing).
If someone could whack together a list of what sort of parts would be needed and good for something like that, telling me what each stat of each part would be useful for, and maybe some examples of parts I could get that would be amazing, but pointing me in the right direction with a link or something would be really useful. Thank you
