hey there

i am planning to purchase and build a computer in the near future,
now i was an "AMD" guy i guess you could say and at one stage i wanted to go with them but i figure it is sensible to purchase and go with the hardware that is the best at the time which in my opinion is Intel.

my problem is being an ex amd so i don't know all that much about intel.
i know/think i want a socket 775? e8500. i know power supply i want
i just don't know which motherboard has everything i want on it

i want a motherboards that supports 1066mhz ram, (8 gig at least)
i also want it to support crossfire (2 both running at 16X each not 16x, 8x if possible)
also would like raid 0 support
price cap of a max about $300-$350.

any suggestions would be muchly appreciated

thanks

First You will need to state the purpose of the computer example word processing, video editing, gaming or surfing the internet. Then choosing the motherboard becomes a bit easier. As far as choosing the motherboard there is a website that lets you read reviews from several sources so you can make an informed decision. Its here at 8Dimensional -->> http://www.8dimensional.com/mainboard-reviews/index.html
Good Luck and Regards

because 4 gigs is just above average today. i hope to have the motherboard for quit some time and i dont want to limit myself to 4 gig since vista uses close to that.

x38 or x48 chipsets you say
cool that help narrow my search down
thanks :)
