What mobo can boot from a mini PCIe ssd?

How would I know if the motherboard can boot linux from a mini PCIe SSD?

I plan of using using the PCIe expansion slot as a boot device? Any thought on this?

The PC can boot from any device that is selectable as a boot device in the Bios.
Running any OS from an external source is not recommended.

Tech_Fred, you can run linux from an external hdd, if you want to. There is a recent thread on doing that if you want to look at it, it might help you.
