For the past week I keep getting a warning eery time I take a photo about the storage on my Samsung Galaxy S7 almost being full. I hardly have any photos, music, documents, etc. A couple downloaded apps a while ago, Pandora and Duo for work. Only use Pandora when outside during warmer weather, which is not now. I suppose I should just buy a memory chip as I only have the stock 16 gig, but I wonder what could be using so much data? The analysis is showing just a few gig total.

I will check that out, thanks. Don't recall seeing an 'Instantly Clean' option - but will look again. I'll probably get an SD card, but would still like to eliminate any unnecessary data.

Mine only let me clear the memory chache, so gained a few hundred megs. I think the Optimize option on mine has the same function as one in Device Manager in the first link.

Thanks for the suggestions, the micro SD cards are so inexpensive I'll just get one.

I installed a 32GB SD card. The SIM card when flying out, made note of that if I need to do it again. I thought I'd be able to see settings like I did on my Samsung tablet several years ago, to specify where new files ago and move files to the SD card. No options like that. The phone sees the SD card with various common folders. No mention in the manual of how to move files. Still get the low storage warning when looking at photos in Gallery. I'm thinking I could connect the phone to my PC and move files that way, but I'd think there would be a function in the phone and to specify where future like photos and videos go. It's a Samsung Galaxy S7.

Thanks - that was a huge help. I was thinking it all would be done via Storage, but I see it's done by apps. Some of the wording is different, but it got me in the right direction. I guess I have to not think like I'm using a PC. It was easy enough to specify the SD card as the destination for future photos and videos, verified that's where they're going. So far moved all photos and music to the SD card. It was enough so I no longer get the warning about low storage space, Later I'll connect it to the PC to synch playlist from Media Player, hopefully I'll see the SD card as a destination like I did with the tablet.

Unless I totally missed them, there's no instructions in the manual for this process. I have the .pdf version and searched on 'Move'. I should have done this a while ago, the SD card was about $14 + tax. But I'm not a 'normal' person, meaning I don't use my phone much, home phone is analog tip and ring via Ooma. Not much data on my phone, photos stored on the PC and Google Drive, music streamed and played by the PC.

When synching a playlist from Windows Media Player the SD card did appear as 'Next Source', or something like that. I sent some playlists and music files to the SD card. Like the tablet in the past I had to do one of the playlists twice. Not a concern, maybe it's a Windows/Android thing as it's happened before with a different laptop.

When ejecting the tray for the SD card and memory, what's a good tool (the original tool that came with the phone of course would be best) to use? A paper clip will work but it the tray shot out twice Maybe that's just what it does.

Ok - I know I could use Bluetooth but it doesn't consistently connect easily. I usually share photos to Google Drive then download them to my PC. When I synch playlists from my PC I use a cable. I know it must be the one that came with the phone for charging. Others will allow it to charge, but not show as a connected device.
