When I start may computer, I'm seeing a window from STService.exe that says "The program can't start because STString.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." What is this program and I have no idea how to reinstall it, nor do I know why it's missing from my computer. Is this something necessary? Thanks for your input.

Is it a Dell Computer? If yes,

Try below steps:

  1. Find "Dell DataSafe Local Backup" within your Program Files ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell DataSafe Local Backup")
  2. Locate the file STString.dll in this directory
  3. Copy the file - and I hasten to repeat, COPY it (do not move or cut the file, as this will cause many more issues)
  4. Find the Scheduler folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell DataSafe Local Backup\Components\scheduler" )
  5. Paste the file in to this directory

Thank you Rits for your input. Yes, it is a Dell and I followed your suggestions and pasted the "copied" file to the scheduler as instructed. I closed out and restarted the computer. Now I'm finding a new message, same format, asking that I try reinstalling STXml.dll. I returned to the location you mentioned and am seeing the following "schedulers" listed in this order: Scheduler, SchedulerDevice, SchedulerPlg, SchedulerPlg.exe, & STSCheduler.dll, along with the STString.dll that I installed as suggested.
