Trying to upgrade to FighterAce 4.2. Problem is when I run the new FAinstaller it all goes well until the download progress meter appears and an ERROR window pops up saying "CHECKSCRIPT IS MISSING" and "MAKE SURE THIS PROGRAM CAN WRITE FROM THE DIRECTORY IT IS RUNNING FROM”. Prior to download Firewall and antivirus were totally disabled and popups to the download site are allowed. I downloaded FAinstall to another directory and got the same results. I booted to SAFE MODE and tried running FAinstall there with exactly the same results. What is CHECKSCRIPT!!?. There little to no information on Google about CHECKSCRIPT (unbelievable!) unless you read Japanese.
Anybody got an idea?

Hello and welcome to TSF

Go to the directory you installed FigherAce. Fing checkscript.exe and run it, chose Run for Figher Ace, this should solve your problem. You must assure checkscript.exe is allowed to do whatever it wants in your computer.

Hey Wolf,

thanks for the info./ all my download file says is FAinstaller23.exe. no breakdown./ no mention of checkscript. /where would I look? / did a files and folder search without finding checkscript.exe./ I assume this file is downloaded with the installer./ I have attempted FAinstaller download at least 5 times in 3 different locations. / each install attempt is the same, missing checkscript / appreciate the help

I finally got Fainstaller to run by changing the compatability mode to windows 2000. (I’m XP) Simple fix. Complicated find. Thanks for everybody’s help. Getting the game is OK but solving the “getting the game” problem is just as satisfying.
