I bought an enclosure from Newegg two days ago, only to find when it arrived that it doesn't work with my laptop (Inspiron 6400)'s hard drive, a 120 GB Western Digital Scorpio/WD1200BEVS. The connection type isn't the same on both devices.

Does anyone know an enclosure that'll work for the WD1200BEVS?

Images are included if you aren't sure what I'm getting at.

you simply need a 2.5 inch drive enclosure instead of the more popular 3.5 inch drive enclosure

do a product search on newegg.com for

Vantec Nexstar 2.5 inch hard drive enclosure

verify the 2.5 inch drive enclosure you get is for an IDE drive (ata 100) and not a 2.5 inch serial ata enclosure (sata)

Hm, although the enclosure I bought was for a 2.5" hard drive, I think I understand what happened--should have bought an SATA enclosure instead of an IDE one since the WC Scorpio hard drives are SATA. (Your second response got it backwards, heh.)

All 2.5" SATA hard drives connect the same way, right? Although.. I'm looking at: http://www.byteccusa.com/product/enclosure/HD1-SUS/06.jpg and it doesn't seem to fit.
