5103 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Blitze105
I am running Windows XP SP2 and decided to create a restore point, this what came up:
An exception occurred while trying to run
"C:\Windows\system32\shell32.dll, Control_RunDll "C:\Windows\system32\sysdm.cpl",system"
Can anyone tell me how to fix this or at least tell me what it means.

Lets try this, ok? It just scans ur disk for errors...

Put your Windows XP into the drive, a screen may/should come up X on it.

Go to Start -> Run and type SFC /SCANNOW and click OK

Let System File Checker run.

When finished remove the XP CD and reboot the computer.
=====

If this doesn't work we may just try to replace the files ourselves...
