You simply need a projector. You'll connect the projector to the laptop via the VGA out and then on the laptop press the Fn key + whatever key is for external monitor (sometimes F8).
What do I need to "project" pictures....
I have a presentation I am supposed to do next week and thought I would use some pictures on my computer as part of the program. I need to project them onto a wall or screen - but have no idea what I need to be able to do this. I have two laptops - HP Pavilion 9000v and a Dell Studio 1749. The HP is about 4 years old. The Dell is not quite a year old. Can you help me get started on researching if either of my computers have what it takes?

Probably be best to either borrow or rent one . They are generally a few hundred dollars for a decent one.
