I´ve got a problem, my Intel E2160 1,8 Ghz is currently overclocked to 2,8 Ghz and it runs stable without crashes or insane temperatures, but yesterday when i started my computer i felt that everything was going slower, and when i started crysis i got terrible framerates. I tried to restart my computer but it didn´t help at all, but when i started cpuz i saw that my CPU had dropped to 1,8 Ghz again, with the voltage unchanged. So i took a look in BIOS and there it said that it was still running 2,8 Ghz (***?). This is very weird and i don´t have a clue about how to fix it, i appreciate all help, if you have any idea, please answer, or i´ll get this mad:mad:.

My specs are the following:
Intel E2160 1,8 Ghz
2 Gb ram 800 mhz
Gigabyte P35-DS3L
500 W PSU
(3 hard drives)
Windows Vista and Windows XP

I´ve tried to set defualt values, but it didn´t help, i think i should try removing the battery and insert it again, so that all options become reset. However, thanks for answering!

As with all overclocking, you are pushing a piece of hardware past it normal limits. By doing so, you greatly increase the risk of shorting the lifespan of the piece. If you cant quickly locate the problem, might be time to put that lil sucker to rest and get a better bigger cpu.

~40 in idle and 55+ while working, but i don´t think thats to hot.
However, today it just started working again, without me doing anything, another guy a asked said that it could be my mobo battery that is defect, do you think that could be the problem?
