Hi, I searched around and founded some threads about this error but I couldn't get anything, well I get this BSOD running the game Scratches, I tried to update my drivers to the lastest (nvidia 195.62), but with no result. I will try to run any other game, because I only have Scratches, well I put my dump in the attachment. Thanks.

EDIT: It gives me 7F with all of the rest 0 nothing else more.

Please update this driver: RTCore32.sys Wed May 25 02:39:05 2005
It's not likely to be the cause of the problem, but it is very old and may be causing issues.

The memory dumps blame cdd.sys (a Windows component). As it's not likely that a Windows component is causing this, the next most likely suspect is s program that uses your CD drive. You have Daemon Tools installed on your system - so that could be the issue. Try removing it to see if that stops the errors.

Post back if that doesn't work - and we'll try Driver Verifier with some special settings.

Here's the summary of the memory dumps:

Hi, thanks for your help, but it didn't make any effect unistalling daemon-tools. It stills doing that BSOD. My computer is "old" and it can't be overvoltage or too much overclocked (like 200mhz) I tried to run with a fresh bios but with no effect again. And, one thing more, when I installed W7 I removed the CD Drive, so my computer is whith only de HD, but I tried also to put the drive and angain you know the rest of the story... thanks again :)

EDIT: Do you know what is the RTCore32.sys driver for?

Hi, I founded the problem, I searched about problems with the gamen Scratches and It has one with W7 that causes a weird crash, my problem. Thanks for your help it's solved ;)

If anyone wanted to fix this:

Posted: Tue Oct 27, 2009 6:01 pm Post subject: IMPORTANT TO USERS OF WINDOWS 7!
This new release of Windows has (unsurprisingly) an incompatibility with Scratches. For some reason, one of the default settings in the game will cause a nasty crash in your system.

The solution is to simply edit the SCREAM.CFG file with Notepad or Wordpad and change the following value:

RATE 0

to

RATE 60

Then save and everything should run smoothly again. You may need to have administrative rights to edit that file (if it causes you too much trouble then simply install the game someplace else, ie: C:\Games\Scratches).

Hope that helps!

Agustin
