Hello,

Wondering if anyone here can help us. We have a website called london school of osteopathy and when trying to search for the site e.g. via google, sometimes it adds a "borough" at the end. This then brings us to a different osteopathy school.

WHy does it not sure our website if borough was added at the end?

WHat ways can we show that our school appears on the results list?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi!

I searched both Google and Yahoo using london school of osteopathy and both search engines put your website first.

When I added the word borough to the search, the other site came up first.

I believe there are 2 reasons for this.

1.) The word Borough is in their street address, repeated on the site and helps it rank higher with that word added.

2.) Your Meta tags are empty on your site.

The answer: SEO SEO SEO!!!
Using your Meta tags properly will increase your Search Engine Rankings. Even though they do exist on your site, they have empty content.

The good news:
The other guy doesn't even have empty meta tags, so if you were to fix your Meta tags, chances are you would rank higher, although it's not guaranteed, it surely wouldn't hurt your overall rankings, because you can add other search terms as well to your Meta tags.

Focus on the Description and Keyword Meta tags.

Good luck!

Extra thought: I am assuming your site is www.lso.ac.uk.
