ok so heres my problem.. on my 5 year old Micron.. my 21" CRT Monitor has been really strange recently. I dont know when it started but from the top left and right corners.. the display started become wavey and through the past few weeks its just gotten worse and worse. I have no clue whats wrong.. do i just need a new monitor? I dont really wanna shell out the cash so someone please tell me if there is a way i can fix it and perhaps how to fix it.

p.s. i can't take a screen shot.. because when i do the computer thinks the screen is fine... so i am sure its the monitor

The first thing I would try is to borrow a monitor and try it to make sure that's the problem. Repairing monitors today is not really feasible due to the fact that what it costs to repair one isn't that far from the cost of new ones...........

If the monitor is 5 years old, it's probably on it's way out. I figure that a monitor has had a full life it it gives me 5 years.

Yep, it's probably on its way out. My friend's monitor is doing that , and it's a really good one (or at least it was).
