I originally loaded the Beta test of Vista as a duel Boot (only 1 HDD). I now have the proper 64bit copy, if I just load over the top of the other vista (formatting as I go) will it ruin the bootloader and not recognise XP?
Would it be safer to follow the steps and remove Vista beta then reinstall it on the clean partition?
i'd boot from the dvd, and let it format and install over top of the beta, and then the installer will make sure that the bootloader is there for it to all work when its done.
I installed Vista over the top however its caused a slight problem. I now get the Boot Loader open.. but its tiled in 4 or 6 windows across the screen. I took out the .bac files on the XP partition and this fixed it for a reboot however its now doing it again.
