Hey all, I've been attempting to get a Dell XPS laptop running Vista Ultimate (SP1) to print to a couple network printers. I have an HP Color LaserJet 2600n and a Canon iR 1023if both connected via ethernet, with static IP's and working with every other machine I have, though no other machines run Vista.
I've attempted adding the printer locally (using an IP port) as well as using the "Add network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer" option. Both printers install flawlessly by adding a port, though the HP doesn't show up in the automatic "Add network...printer" search.
I'll try printing a test page, multiple documents, and anything I can, but after a quick spooling for a pending document, there's nothing left under print jobs and the printers don't respond.
I can ping both printers, and I've tried the universal driver package for the HP that they released. I've re-created IP ports, deleted them in the registry, and done it again, I've disabled the McAfee and Windows firewall, and frankly am still puzzled. My google searches are seemingly fruitless, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance.
