Vista Recovery Disks from an External Enclosure

1146 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  jcgriff2
I have my Vista 64-bit HDD with intact Factory Image partition in an external enclosure and wish to create Recovery Disks from it with an XP machine. Is this possible? I've tried downloading HP's Recovery Manager to run in XP but it states a Recovery Partition cannot be found. I am doing this in anticipation of replacing my motherboard with a new one (same type/model). Thanks for any input or advice!

The recovery discs must be created on the system the OS was pre-installed on.

Contact HP to purchase a replacement set of recovery DVDs. Cost should be about $25.
