OS - Vista ultimate 64 service pack 2
MB- Intel p55
GFX- EVGA GTX295
750 MB hard drive
4 gigs corsair 2000 ddr3 ram

The system runs perfectly all other times, runs even the newest games flawlessly, the only problem I have is whenever I try to stream a video through youtube / gamerstube / hulu or anything, I get a complete lockup with my speakers sounding like they are machine guns firing. I gotta believe its a sound issue, I installed just the basic audio drivers on my MB disk since it comes with a Supremefx soundcard. Tried to get those drivers as well but they require the MB manual, which the guy who put together the computer still has.

Will typically stream for like 5 minutes before crashing. It's a brand new system so I don't have any antivirus yet, I'm willing to install a recommended type.

Thanks for any help in advance guys!

Most likely this is being caused by your network driver (Rtlh64.sys Tue Sep 26 07:20:23 2006). Please update it immediately.

Please also update the following drivers:
Code:
pciide.sys Thu Nov 02 05:38:14 2006
HDAudBus.sys Tue Nov 27 18:24:06 2007
Rtlh64.sys Tue Sep 26 07:20:23 2006
ASACPI.sys Mon Oct 30 22:09:12 2006
HdAudio.sys Wed Nov 01 21:48:10 2006
swenum.sys Thu Nov 02 05:37:33 2006
AsIO.sys Mon Dec 17 04:11:49 2007
spsys.sys Thu Jun 21 21:02:05 2007

Thank you very much, however would it be possible to tell me how to go about getting these drivers? I can find graphics card drivers easy enough, but I have no idea what half of those even are.

Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button > Network adapter > click the "+" > Right click and select update drivers
This doesn't always get the best drivers. Otherwise go here....

Yea it says that I already have the latest drivers. I've downloaded like 3 driver finders and spent hours trying to get everything updated, but to no avail. Most of the listed drivers in the previous post now show that they have been modified in 2009. Driver finders don't find any out of date drivers now. My computer tells me it needs to install drivers for an unknown device when windows starts up, but it can't find them. I've manually disabled the unknown device in device manager. I still just don't know what to do now. Computer has froze up a few times without watching a video, but still mostly when I'm streaming. Sometimes it can go 30 minutes to an hour while watching a vid and not crash, sometimes its immediate.

Edit* uploaded a screenshot of my installed programs and features that are on / off since some things there looked a little suspicious, like framework being sp1 even though I have sp2 as well as under features it is showing that it is 3.0 but in programs it says 3.5.

Upgraded to Windows 7, chose custom installation and did a fresh install, at least it said. I didn't have to install any new drivers to get anything working, including internet though, which I thought was weird. It did apparently save some stuff in a windows.old folder, 3 of them, which takes up 100 gigs.

This is basically a bump and another update, since the problem still was not fixed. I did manage to watch a full 45 minute program streaming with no issues, however another time it froze 20 minutes in. The computer itself is running great, no crashes when not streaming like I was starting to have before, all temps correct, etc. So where do we go from here? I was thinking of just removing my SupremeFX X-Fi card to see if that helps. Should I post all new logs, or delete the windows.old folders? Any new ideas?

Crashes with no bsod while streaming videos or watching videos with VLC

Hi, made a different post with the same exact issue here.

http://www.techsupportforum.com/f217/vista-crashing-while-watching-any-streaming-video-434354.html

I got very little help, I was told to update drivers and given a list of files that I guess were drivers, but was not told in any way how to acquire said files. That post gives most relevant information, however, as I expressed in the last post of that thread, I updated to a fresh install of Windows 7. The problem persists.

In that post I did say that I tried to download all the newest drivers in every way possible, but it just made my computer crash more often, even without streaming. Basically I get no help whilst bumping the thread, so I figured I would start a new one since it is a bit different seeing as I updated to windows 7.

Although I chose a fresh install, it saved all my old stuff in a windows.old folder, including all the driver updates I attempted.

Another update, is that it seems to not crash if I download the video and open it in windows media player. Most of all I'm looking for what information I need to provide, I can't seem to find the instructions for providing the tsf vista support that I provided in my original post. I guess it may be different now that I have windows 7.

Please help, it is intensely frustrating not being able to watch streaming videos when I spent 3000$ on this damn computer.

Edit* when I updated, I wasn't required to install any drivers at all, and my computer was able to connect to the internet immediately.

Your threads have been merged.

You mentioned in post #1 that the system is brand new. Can you please tell us just how old the hardware is and when the Vista OS was installed?

The page file, created during OS install or when modified -
Code:
C:\pagefile.sys
InstallDate
[color=red]20090926[/color]150313.671875-420
From another report -
Code:
Original Install Date: 11/11/2009, 1:56:52 PM
The creation of the page file precedes the OS installation date; your original post = 11-22-09. The files that I looked at are from Vista. I did take note that you upgraded to Windows 7 since then.

My recommendation at this time is that you wipe the entire hard drive with KillDisk and re-install Windows 7. This would give all a good, fresh place to start.

KillDisk - http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm

Make bootable KillDisk ISO CD w/ ImgBurn -
ImgBurn - http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

After KillDisk has finished deleting ALL partitions, insert the Windows 7 DVD, enter your keycode, make the selection to allow Windows Updates to come in. When you arrive at Windows 7 Desktop, check Windows Updates again -

www.update.microsoft.com

Windows Updates will take care of installing the majority of drivers for everything from audio, video, etc... Make sure during the installation that you have an active Internet connection - either Ethernet or wifi. Windows 7 contains legacy drivers - so it should be able to find a driver for Ethernet/ wifi. There will be nothing for you to install pre/during Windows 7 OS installation.

Regards. . .

Ok, I think I will try that JCgriff, I've just ignored the problem for awhile, since it doesn't happen that often, so I just download any videos I want to watch, and watch them on WMP instead, which gives no problems. The install date you quoted is when it was installed, and all hardware was brand new on that date. I'll just wipe it and try again.
