So I was playing rocket league today and mid game my computer went haywire. Starting typing, closing and opening up programs, running scans, and then a guy screams through my speakers GG!!! Lolol. Funny thing is it only starts when I plug my laptop in to charge it. I booted into safe mode and rand a few scans all scans come back as nothing is wrong any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an Alienware 15 inch laptop. Running windows 10, this is what happens when I plug my charger in

  • If you have a 32 bit system Download FRST to your Desktop.
  • If you have a 64 bit system Download FRST64 to your Desktop.
  • If you don't know whether your system is 32 bit or 64 bit, download both. Only one will run on your machine. That's the one to use.
  • Double click Frst.exe to launch it.
  • FRST will start to run.
    • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press the Scan button.
    • When finished scanning 2 logs will open on your Desktop, FRST.txt and Addition.txt
    • Please post them in your next reply.

OK, try zipping it first, and then post the zipped file as an attachment.

I'm going out shortly, and will be out for the rest of the morning (it's 6:15 am here now), so it will probably be afternoon before I get to look at any logs you post.

Looking over your logs now. This may take me a while, dependent on how many entries I need to research.

Back as soon as I've finished.

No obvious signs of an active infection in your FRST logs, however there are a few things that need attention, so what I suggest is that we deal with them first, and then run an online scan and see if that detects anything that I might have missed.

  • Start FRST in a similar manner to when you ran a scan earlier, but this time when it opens ....
  • Press Ctrl+y (Ctrl and y keys at the same time)
  • A blank randomly named .txt Notepad file will open.
  • Copy and paste the following into it (don't include Code: ) ....

OK, I think what was causing your problem was this entry ...

Generally speaking, from a security standpoint, it's not a good idea to allow sites to send you notifications, because they can be used as a conduit to infect your machine. Even if the site is a legit one, if it ever gets compromised (and most sites are constantly under attack), then the author of the attack has a means to access your machine.

Since your e-set scan came back clean, what I suggest you do now is monitor your machine for a few days and see if the problem recurs, if it does let me know. I'll leave this topic open till Wednesday, and if I haven't heard from you by then, then I'll close it.

OK, I think what was causing your problem was this entry ...

... which we've now removed.

I'll leave this topic open till Wednesday, and if I haven't heard from you by then, then I'll close it.
thank you so much and il report back if something does happen but my cp seam to be running more smooth from even before i had the problem. NOT ALL HEROS WEAR CAPES!

"an Alienware 15 inch laptop"..., hmmm.
