Virtual pc running in Vista 64bit for Metal Fatigue PC game

hi, i am trying to use virtual pc to run a game called metal fatigue. first off, if anyone knows how i can run this game in vista so that the side bar actually shows up that would solve my problem. otherwise, when i try to play in windows on VPC it puts the game in the top right corner and doesnt load the graphics correctly and the mouse doesnt function properly(moves as if on a grid to specific points). and when i try windows 2000 or 98, the network card doesnt work which playing with my friend is the whole point of this. please if anyone can help, give me some! thx! plus if u need more info since i know this is vague, just say so.
