So I've had this computer since July.. 2004-2005th. And the problems only seem to have started in November. First I thought it was an issue with World of Warcraft, but then I just encountered a Computer shut down while playing Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year.

Windows XP
1024mb RAM
Inter(R) Pentium 4, 3.00ghz
RADEON 9600 Series
SoundMAX Digital Audio.

If you would like any additional info to help me solve my problem, please do ask.

Thank you!

Run http://www.almico.com/speedfan431.exespeedfan and report back to us the temperatures it produces.

Have you cleaned the system of dust??

Do the fans spin freely?
"Temp1: 37C
Temp2: 49C
HD0: 20C"

Fan1: 0 RPM
Fan2: 2637 RPM.

I should check the fans after this to see if they are clean of dust. But a really odd behavior that might happen anytime from 5 minutes during the playtime (As soon as I boot my PC), Or 2-3 hours. Also, for some odd reasons, Each time I put a CD in my DVD-reader, It'll usually make my computer lock-up.
Well your temps are quite hot. Make sure the fans are free from dust and spin.

Have you got a fan on the front of your case SUCKING air inside and a fan on the rear SUCKING OUT from inside?
Fan1 concerns me. It appears like its not spinning. Check this immediately as it can burn your system out if it goes unnoticed.

There's a fan that sucks air inside, yeah, and the one in the rear sucks out.

...And Last time I checked the fans were working fine and the box was clean of dust. Before I go down to check this out, Would there be any reasons why the computer randomly locks up?
It maybe because of spyware etc.

I have also heard heat causes lock-ups.

You can get your computer checked here, but remove all dust first and check to see if problem persists.

Well it wasn't that dusty. But the fan.. I'm not sure it's even working. Should I just buy a new one and put a Deskfan next to my computer in the meantime?
Yes, if its not spinning then it must be broken. Is it correctly plugged in??

Buy a new fan and put a deskfan next blowing in whilst you get the new fan. Make sure you buy the correct size. Eg. 120mm, 80mm 60mm 40mm There may be more than that.

I would but ever since what happened with the last computer, I just don't feel like checking if it is correctly plugged in or not. I'll put a Deskfan which will hopefully does the trick for a bit.
When you replace the fan..you will need to plug it in. When working inside computer, make sure you are properly grounded.

I just checked the fans, and -both- Are working.
Run speedfan again. and post results.

Still says that the fan isn't working, yet I can guarantee that it -is- spinning.
Same results than before.
If your computer simply turns off when playing an intensive application like a 3D game, you have a hardware problem. If windows crashes, it usually either gives a blue screen, or restarts your computer.

If I were you, I would start stripping down the parts in your computer. Start with PCI cards, then maybe IDE devices, then memory. I actually had the same problem. My computer shut off whenever I ran a 3D game. The solution for me was to reseat my processor.
*sometimes* It crashes. other times, It reboots. And even others, I stare at a blank, blue screen message, or the game freezing. Lots of things would happen. And it still seems like my computer's overheating.
When was the last time you replaced the grease between the heat-sink and the processor?? Sometimes, it can dry up causing it to loose its efficiency. Simply remove the Heat-sink and remove any old grease, and renew it with some Artic Silver 5. Put the heat-sink back on making sure its properly seated and test.
Hi

A sudden crash and a reboot are overheating or PSU problems.

Download and run Sensors View and post back the temperatures, fan speeds, and voltages.
Hey. Been a while.

Anyway, it's not only games. It's much more. The shop guy says It's not Overheating issues. EACH TIME. EACH TIME I put a CD inside. As -soon- as it tries to read the CD, bam, Hardlock. And each time I play something that animates it 3d, It will Eventually (Not Instantly anymore, ever since I changed the Mother board.) Crash.

Any hints?
