I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 that I reformatted recently and every time I try to install the ATI MobilityRadeon X300 driver for my video controller, it gives me the following error message:

Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware of software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software.

I looked on the Dell website and downloaded every other driver with no nuisance, but this one always gives me a problem. Not sure if I need to install a driver prior to this, but one thing to note is I never put in the software CD that came with the computer, if that may hold any standard drivers or whatnot.

Also, does this driver correspond with my computer's ability to play DVD movies? I haven't been able to play them as long as this has been having errors.

Okay so I went to the drivers download page and got everything I needed and put them in the specific order, but I noticed a whole category of drivers called CD/DVD with many Recommended and drivers to download. Does this have any correlation to my inability to play DVD roms? because I never downloaded these drivers.

Yeah I installed the Intel Graphics card, but the one that's having problems is the ATI MobilityRadeon X300 driver. But oddly, it doesn't show up on the link you provided. When I look up the drivers on the dell support site, i usually just input my computer model, not the service tag. Is it better to do the service tag? And yeah this i'm talking about dvd videos like movies.

Also, I most likely did not install the drivers in that order. Should i reinstall them?
