Hello, i have been troubleshooting a BSOD issue with Win7 64 bit and it is located in the thread here.

http://www.techsupportforum.com/f217/several-bsod-problems-500476.html

usasma has been very helpful in leading me to this point and recommended that i use this forum instead to complete my little "investigation".

I had been receiving several BSOD's, random restarts (where i would hear a click) and computer freezing. It would happen either when booting windows back up or in the middle of a game (leading me to believe it was a problem with something over heating, most likely my graphics card).

We have narrowed it down to the graphics card in the previous thread and i would truly appreciate any assistance the professionals here could give me.

I have attached 2 Furmark tests. The first was with the Sapphire 5870 1GB where the results can be found in the link above. The second, is with a HIS HD 4670 1gb.

The Sapphires heat never plateau's (i let it get to 91c before i quit the program) however the HIS did plateau at around 75c so i am pretty certain that this is a hardware issue.

I would like to know how to discover whether or not my card is perma-damaged, or it just needs better ventilation. (possibly both even)

It does not seem to be my processor because i ran Prime95 for awhile and the processors heat stays around 67-68c without any problems. (im guessing it would continue to climb like my cards if there was a problem).

thanks again for any help you can give!

I haven't read the other thread. The BSOD error code should give a good indication of what is causing the issue. If it is indeed the video card, then it is likely overheating or it is faulty. I don't know what else you expect to learn.
