Video Capturing Issue

Hello, I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if I posted this thread in the wrong forum topic.

I am currently having a problem capturing video from my JVC GR-290 camcorder to my PC. I'm using Sony Vegas 8.0 to capture the video however the fallowing problem occurs with all types of video capturing software (I've tried them all).

When Connecting the camcorder, my computer reads it and prompts me with the appropriated video capturing software. When I hit the "record" button, or whatever the appropriate button is to begin video capturing, my PC is able to control my camcorder. For example; I can pause, play and fast forward my device from my PC. The problem occurs because the "Preview" screen does not display the video on my camcorder screen, thus not capturing the video. I have been able to capture video in the past using the same capture card, DV cable, PC, and capture app, but just a different camera. This leads me to believe that the problem has something to do with the drivers, but I have no idea what to do. Google has not helped either.
