Discussion Starter #1 (Edited)
I have been using 3ds max 5 on my old computer for a while and I could use the software to make an avi animation every time.

I got a new system: Windows XP Pro (which the old machine had always updated) 2.6 GHz (800 FSB), 2x256 MB, ASUS P4C800-D, Radeon 9800, ATI Wonder (video capture card) - (my old machine did not have the Video capture card).

Now with my new system the software crashes ONLY when I click the button that goes to the codec chooser through which I would normally choose which one to make my avi movie with. (It gives an application error)

I have tried re-installing the software, re-installing Radeon drivers, uninstalling movie creation related software, and even other black magic that does not work. This specific problem/error I cannot find ANYWHERE out there on-line.

So my question to you is: Do you think my Video capture card might be sequestering the codecs for avi movie creation? Or that its presence might be interfering with my program's ability to get at the codecs?

Any help or comments greatly welcomed!
