Okay, as you can tell, this will be my first post here. Previously, I've been able to gean enough information to fix my broken down computer (Over 5 years old!) previously, but this time it really seems kaput.

I'm going to start at the begining.

It started with my computer turning itself off. I just noticed one day it had shut itself off. Didn't think too much about it, it's and old computer, full of quirks.

However, things came to a head when it started turning itself off while I was using it! It was not a suden powerdown, it took the time to close all my applications, sign out, ect. Once I turned it back on, it would be fine for a few minitues, then do it again. I tried a few things.

Aftet a night's rest, I turned it on again, and it seemed to be fine. It stayed on for most of the day without any problems, but then suddenly shut off, this time it was a sudden powerdown, streight to a black screen. It then turned back on, beeped, made it to the CPU (Which it erronusly described as a 1.80 ghz. It's a 2.40) and shuts down again before I can even enter the bios. It continues to power on and off again until I shut off the power.

I've trired a couple of things. Removed anything non-essecial. Tested the meomory cards. Replaced the PSU, even changed the outlet it was plugged into, but nothing changed. It will only stay on for a few minitues, and then shut down.

At this point, I figure it must either be something to do with the CPU, Mobo, Bios, or the power buttton (But I can't get to it beacuse of the stupid case.)

I plan on takeing it to a repair shop soon, but until then, any help would be greatly apriciated.

Another minor update: I manged to get it to run for a few minitues, only to repeat the shut down problem. Again, it was a very directed shutdown. and waited for all my programs to close before it turned off.
