Does it take very long to get on to safe mode too ? Might be a possible malware issue. On the other hand we need to know more about your system and the programs you are using in start up. If you are malware free we might just configure an efficient start up list. Also your hard drive might be in need of a good maintanance. So please give us some info about your system.
one thing you can do is when your on th desktop, click on start -> run-> and type out "msconfig" without the "". then click on the startup tab and uncheck the programs that you dont need running at startup. i recommend not unchecking the windows files as some of them you need on startup. good luck
Thanks very much guys, i did try your sugestions but still unbeleivable it made no differance, still took ages to start properly, its ok now thank god [ it nearly finished up about 40 feet from my back door ]
Turned out to be a slave drive holding it back from working properly, once i took out the slave and set the jumper right back on the master, she fired up without any problems.
Still thanks anyway, everything is worth a try.
