I've just turned to the "Working with the Desktop" chapter in my Red Hat Linux 8 Bible and I've chosen KDE as my GUI.

I have to say I am very Kompressed so far! (Evidently KDE users must Kuse K whenever possible ... ;) )

What do you like? Gnome or KDE? Why?

I must say actually that if I had to choose, it would be GNOME. For me KDE is just too bogged down with everything, but if I could choose any WM/Desktop it would be Fluxbox, due to its speed and nice looks.

I prefer Gnome to KDE.. just because I think the styling looks "better" but thats all very subjective. If I were stuck on a P133 with 2 megs of RAM.. I'd be sticking with Window Maker since it uses almost no resources :) But since I'm fortunately not in that position I like Gnome2 myself. I haven't had the opportunity to try fluxbox but I hear that its pretty sweet.
