When I proceeded to install the Verizon DSL onto my computer, it told me in the system requirements that the computer needed a NIC and I have used the same service before and they're weren't any problems. What I was thinking is that the programs thinks I'm using ethernet but I'm not, is there a way to clear/ reset the memory that I've put in the installation disk? Or some way to get rid of the ethernet option. I was planning on using USB to connect to DSL.

FWIW, I strongly recommend using Ethernet for networking, you'll find it's much more stable than USB for this task.
