i have a used usb500 external HDD made by Verbatim but It's not recognized by my win 7 desktop. All is fine on my laptop booting win7 and ubuntu. i have reformatted and still its not recognized by my desktop. any ideas?

Hello! Is there a drive letter assigned to the drive? Go to Control Panel>Administrative tools>Computer Managment>Drive management look to see if there is a drive letter assigned to the drive. If there is not assign one.

Change, add, or remove a drive letter
