Various BSOD on Win7 64bit

Hi,

I've encountered many BSOD's within the past two months. There are multiple user accounts on my PC, 2 admin accounts and 4 standard user accounts.

Most occur when browsing the internet using Chrome/Firefox and sometimes when watching HD Youtube content or videos via VLC

Basic System Information:
• Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
• x64
• XP was originally installed
• XP Partition deleted, Win7 installed (Full Retail Version)
• System Date: November 2009

• Intel Quad Core Q9550
• ATI XFX 4890
• Asus P5QL Pro
• PowerCool 650w (upgrade from Coolermaster 500w)

Hi bauer24. Did the BSOD begin occuring when you changed OS?

Forgot to add, i created an earlier post in August 2010 located here

It was at that time, when the rate of BSOD increased. Since applying the fixes given i would rarely come across them again. However, within the past two months they have since re-appeared.

My PC was a custom build from an online store, it had Windows XP originally installed, that partition was deleted and a fresh install of Win7 was carried out.

Apologies for the late reply, i applied the [168]AR81FamilyWinSetup_1.0.0.49_WHQL driver last week. However i am still encountering yet more BSOD, the majority of which occurred whilst browsing the internet using Google Chrome.

hi,
I looked at tha last dmp. in that ekrn.exe or specifically the driver epfwwfpr.sys is bad. this is one of the probs. epfwwfpr \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\epfwwfpr.sys Thu Dec 09 10:56:09 2010. Its timestamp is from 2010. in The dump this is what has caused a pagefault at dispatch level to crash the system. please check with vendor regarding updates/patch for this.

Is this a hardware or software issue? I am on a 10mb broadband service, the computer is connected to a cable modem and a Linksys WRT54GL.

I am pretty confident this is a network adapter issue; I cannot determine whether it is hardware or software though. You've done all you can from a software aspect, so either way, I think your most likely shot is to purchase a new card.

While strange things have happened, I wouldn't expect the router or cable modem to cause your BSODs.

That's a PCI adapter; it should work on any motherboard made in the past long while, including yours.
