Sorry for the potentially confusing title. So I managed to resolve an issue with my HDMI port not working, by running the Mini-DP output into a Mini-DP HDMI converter, which in turn runs to an HDMI splitter (an externally powered one), and then to my monitor and TV.

This seemed to be working perfectly fine, until I turned off both devices (and left my third, DVI, monitor on), and then it started "blinking" as windows were being moved from the default monitor (HDMI) back to the now "only" plugged in monitor. That is, when TV and monitor are turned off, Windows no longer registers it as plugged in, despite that the splitter is still powered and all plugged in.

I did an, admittedly, quick search about this, and from what I can tell this is "as designed" with HDMI, but is there any way.. around this? I'd prefer not to have to reset the positions of windows and such every time I turn off my monitor.
