Useing TV as a moniter

I am currently moniterless, I am trying to hook my desktop up to my 32" JVC TV. My vid-card is a Radeon x800 XT AiW, I have the S-video cable and the yellow cable i think this is the composite cable, both are hooked up to the tv and the desktop. S-video however is not directly into the vidcard. another thing came with the card that looks like a domino, directions said to plug that into the vidcard and then plug the S-video and yellow cable into that then the TV. I did all that and cannot get a picture on the TV... am I missing something? Does my TV cable have to be hooked up to the TV also? I use DirectTV, but not really interested in watching tv from my pc, just want to play my pc games Lol.

I tryed setting my tv to default moniter in the ATI setting but no luck, TV acts like nothing else is plugged into it. please help

Computers monitors nowadays have a much better clarity in terms of pixelation compared to your average TV. I wouldn't recommend long-term usage of your TV for a computer monitor unless you have an LCD screen or maybe HDTV.

Some of these instructions should help you.
yeah, its a LCD screen. I bought a HDMI to DVI cable this fixed my problem. I figured this was the problem but posted before i tried everything :4-thatsba

anyhow thanks for the info :sayyes:
