USB2 Driver help

1314 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Tumbleweed36
Hi,

I've recently had to reset my pc and install all my hardware, but for some reason XP is not recognising my USB2 card ( i thought it would install drivers automatically ) unfortunately i dont have any driver disks and the card does not have any product info on it.

Does anyone have any idea how to get the driver and how to reinstall it?

Any help would be really GREAT!

Richard

Hi,

Did you install your chipset drivers from the motherboard disk when you reinstalled? Did you make sure you have SP2 on your install? Have you gone into the BIOS setup menu and made sure that the USB items are all enabled in there? Have you looked in the Device Manager to make sure that there are no red or yellow marks in there indicating the need for you to update the driver?

Post back with questions/concerns.
the drivers are included in sp2 have you enabled pnp for the operating system in the bios

Hi, yes I have service pack 2 but I'm not sure how to go about checking the plug and play in the bios. Any help would be appriciated.

I basically wiped my drive clear to start fresh and reinstalled windows xp. everything is fine except for the usb 2 card which I have installed and for some reason its showing up on the device manager with a yellow ?. I have tried to get into the bios as suggested but I'm unable to move around or access anything. I did all the windows updates including service pack 2. I cant think why its so hard to find a driver for it.
