Hello!

I want to transfer a video Ive made to my usb stick and than the problem starts. USB transfer speed starts at 100 mbps and slowly degrades down, after 3 min, speed is decreased down to 3 mbps and hangs there. Transfering 18gb at speed of 3 mbps is total PITA.

I tried at all usb ports, same story. I've reinstalled drivers, again, same story. Than I take that usb stick to my pc on work, which sucks (5yo ancient museum pc) and transfer over there flies like crazy. It's impossible that that old pc is better and faster than mine. :p

These are my specs:

CPU:i7 2600
MBO: GA-H67MA-D2H-B3
RAM: Corsair 8 gb 1333 mhz
HD: WD Caviar Black 1 TB SATA3
GPU: Radeon 7700 1GB DDR5
PSU: Seasonic 520w

Usb stick: Verbatim 32gb USB 2.0 (not the cheap one)

Any help is appreciated.

Thx

Did you see Properties>Policy? If so tick "Better Performance". Once you're using this feature which is really write caching, be absolutely sure to use “Safely Remove Hardware” when disconnecting USB device.

When you said, "tried all USB ports", did you mean on the computer rather than an external hub? Even though you got high speed download at work still format the USB Memory Stick.

Yes, on the computer. On this pc everything works super fine, except this one little problem. :( Yes, I formatted USB stick as well....I updated BIOS as well, same problem persists.

Could it be the file itself or does it happen with all large files? If no solution is found, can the files be broken apart into fast download segments and be usable that way or edited later?

I just called a buddy on this since I don't mess around that much with videos. He said to check the total transfer time on the same file at work and home, not the apparent download speed. He said the setup on the work one doesn't wait for the sync, hence, job finished whereas at home, it's playing catch-up. I'm posting this, but if there really is a total time difference, post back the two times.
