The short and sweet of it is: my sound card transmits sounds with tons of static every time I plug in an additional USB device.

I have my USB keyboard, mouse, and sound card working FINE together, but whenever I add, say, my WACOM tablet or my Logitech game pad, it freaks out. I'm instantly bombarded with horrible static imitations of the correct sounds, and nothing short of unplugging said device and restarting my PC clears it up. I've done the whole "recent drivers" thing, figuring it was just my sound card, but now I'm thinking it's something else. It's almost as if my sound card tolerates my mouse and keyboard out of necessity, but hates any other device.

I suppose I'll post the usual information for things like this:

ASUSTeK Computer INC.
MCP55 LPC Bridge
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+
Socket AM2 [Socket AM2 ]
System Slots 7 PCI

One Physical Processor / 2 Cores / 2 Logical Processors / 64 bits
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+
CPU Code Name: Windsor
Socket AM2
Max Voltage = 1.40 V
CPU Clock = 3214.85

4 sticks of 1gig DDR2 800MHz (brand escapes me at the moment)

Video Card
Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT 256MB PCI-E

Western Digital Raptor 10k RPM 140GB SATA

Windows XP Pro

Sound Card
C-Media USB Sound Device, specifically Icemat USB soundcard.

If there's anything else you need, anything I've left out, just let me know; I'll be happy to provide. I'm so tired of crackly sound because of USB on USB violence. :(
