The short and sweet of it is: my sound card transmits sounds with tons of static every time I plug in an additional USB device.
I have my USB keyboard, mouse, and sound card working FINE together, but whenever I add, say, my WACOM tablet or my Logitech game pad, it freaks out. I'm instantly bombarded with horrible static imitations of the correct sounds, and nothing short of unplugging said device and restarting my PC clears it up. I've done the whole "recent drivers" thing, figuring it was just my sound card, but now I'm thinking it's something else. It's almost as if my sound card tolerates my mouse and keyboard out of necessity, but hates any other device.
