my son has a dell desktop computer that he accidentally turned the usb ports off. The problem is that the computer only has usb ports to connect the mouse and keyboard. How can we get into the computer to turn the usb ports back on with out the use of the mouse or keyboard?

hi you can use a ps2 keyboard and mouse which you connect at the rear of the comp if you do not have them ask a friend if you can borrow then have your son either retrace his steps or use system restore to restore the comp to a time before he made the changes

He does not have any ps2 connections...it only has usb ports for the mouse and keyboard. Thank you, but we had already tried that. Besides that would be way to easy for us...we always have to make impossible problems to solve.

Clear the CMOS by taking the motherboard battery out for a few and see if that gets it. Don't forget to ground yourself before getting in to that case and always unplug from the wall first.
