USB not recognised by computer

ive read all other posts tht could b the same as my problem, ive done a system file check and virus and spyware checks, which no of came up with any results. it better not b a hardware problem.
i have the motherboard:
GA-7ZXE
VIA KT133A AGPset

Two questions that might help to understand where you are with this.. First of all, did you load all the chipset drivers from your motherboard disk when you installed your Operating System? Second, did you install the Service Pack for your OS?

Another question, did you use the CD that came with it to install the drivers for winXP?

Some printers require the drivers to be installed BEFORE the printer is connected to the pc.
