So this is my third piece of hardware trying to connect my Surface Pro 7 to a second large monitor with USB-C. I have another portable monitor that works just fine, but this bigger monitor doesn't show anything even though windows "detects" the monitor via the connection sound. Usually the Generic PNP driver appears in the device management but nothing shows up. Wondering if anyone has any tips. I've already given the computer a reboot and checked the connections as well.

Thanks,
Spencer

We need a lot more information.
What is Bigger Monitor? Is it a TV, or a computer monitor? What is the connector on the monitor you are using? (ie) USB-C/Thunderbolt, Display Port, HDMI? What is the cable or adapter you are using? USB-C to USB-C? USB-C to DP? USB-C to HDMI? or something else? Are you selecting the type of connector on the monitor?

What is the make and model# of your monitor? Does it have HDMI, or DP Port or just DVI and VGA? HDMI and DP ports are easier to get recognized .For the USB-C to HDMI adapter, we recommend using the HDMI adapter with a HDMI 2.0 cable or higher. . Also, make sure that the resolution and scaling the surface has, is supported for DVI on the monitor.
One of my questions is, did you select the DVI port on the Monitor menu on the monitor? Does the cable work on any other device?
