Hi, first of all, let me say Thank You very much for taking the time to read my thread and try and help me with my problem.
I don't know if my problem would fit more under an Android Phone/System problem, Or Windows 7 USB problem.
I think it's more of a USB problem than my phone.
I had tried it using my phone on different computers and when I have done that it did work.
I right now have a Samsung Android 4.4.2 Samsung model SGH-T399N. The model of the phone really doesn't matter.
It did the same thing when I was using my LG G3 and another Samsung phone I lost. So it's something with the drivers or something is not getting along well with Android drivers.
Now on to the problem I'm having. Every time I try and connect my phone to the USB cable that's already connected on a USB port, I hear the signal that it's connected but I don't see my Phone in 'My Computer' window as I should.
I go to 'Device Manager' (or right click on the computer icon and click on 'Manage'), and it's there, but with an yellow symbol indicating that it's not working correctly.:frown:
If I connect my phone and the signal goes off and I can't see my phone under the My Computer window. I then unplug my phone, and I have to uninstall the drivers for Android or Samsung device in 'Device Manager'.
To be honest, I forgot what It's actually called when It's in that non-responsive stage. It's Android ______? and 2 other things listed with the yelllow "Not functioning properly icons".:frown:
Then, after uninstalling the driver. I just plug my phone in and it starts installing the necessary drivers for it, and I can use it again, normally, for about 3-5 more times.

I have no idea why this is going on. I tried going to Samsung to get new drivers. Get USB drivers. Get Android drivers all for Windows 7 and nothing really sticks for a long time.
Has anyone ever had this problem? Can anyone point me in the right direction to see what I can do to fix this. Is it a registry problem? I tend to clean the registry sometimes with CCleaner.
Can anyone please tell me what I should delete. I feel like there's some setting I have to change or a file or a folder I have to uninstall, since I had like 3 phones since the last time I formatted my C drive about 4 years ago or so.
Thank you very much guys. Thank you.
Happy belated Halloween
P.S. Please move this file to the correct area of the forum if it's in the wrong area.

It doesn't sound like a USB driver issue. If it was simply a faulty driver, it wouldn't be working at all. As it seems to work for multiple times before it stops again, it sounds like the driver (which is obviously working) is being corrupted. Could be software related (if you are using some software to access the phone), how you are disconnecting the phone, or something else that is being done on the computer when the phone is being disconnected.

When I disconnect my phone, it isn't doing anything. I'm done doing anything on it. I make sure of that. I sometimes try to unplug it using the icon on the bottom right corner, but my phone is not always there. I have tried different ports and wires. all the same results.

Perhaps it's time for a fresh start. I would say a four year old installation of Windows is quite "spent", considering how it tends to get murky (well well, tech terms seem to elude me today) over time of use for whatever reason. Your phone's drivers seem to get corrupted somehow and fail to load/start properly until you uninstall and reinstall them afresh. It's curious that this is only affecting your phone and not any other device (class) or type, which would suggest recurring registry corruption especially of entries specific to that device class (android phone, or portable devices, or Android ADB interface or however your system classifies your phones).

Running registry cleaners is not a wise thing to do, it can potentially cause more harm than good and in your case it could be you have installed a similar (system tuneup) utility that performs this automatically in the background, probably unknowingly (adware).

I suggest you run a scan for adware and potentially unwanted programs that could bloat your system with potentially harmful software. I think it's time to review software resident on your system and clean up. Download adwcleaner from bleepingcomputer.com and run it. If it finds adware on your system it will clean them out and reboot your system. It will also create a log of its results, which you can copy paste here for us to see as well.

After the cleanup, I would also suggest you uninstall any user-installed software that works with your phone(s) and use nothing else but Windows Explorer to work with files on your phones. It's possible that a phone utility (or its service) runs in the background to facilitate auto detection of connected phones and automatic launch and such a utility can interfere with hardware events such as plug and play and driver loading.

We can help identify suspect software on your system, but we would first need to know what's installed. I think there's a handy script somewhere on this forum that generates an html table of installed software. I'll post a link as soon as I find it.

If you leave the cable plugged into the computer when you unplug the phone from the cable, especially if you haven't used the Safely Removed icon by the clock, the computer still thinks it's attached.
When you want to unplug the phone, use Safely Remove and unplug the cable from the Computer end. Then with the phone turned on, when you plug the cable into the Back USB port (desktop) not the front, as those ports are weaker, you will get New Hardware Found and it should not have yellow flags in the Device Manager

Sorry for the long delay. But for my android phones (Mine, my friend and my mom's) all don't show on the "Safely remove hardware" icon thing. Only flash memory sticks which is a weird thing. It wasn't always like that. Could it be a windows services I've disabled or set to manual that should be so? What I usually have to do to get everything working again is go to computer > manage > device manager > go to my android's name and click on uninstall. Then when I plug in my phone, it install all the drivers and that's fine for a couple of times. Then I have to to do it all over again. It's such a pain in the ***.
I'm actually going to do a format and start clean, I just need to buy a 2TB external HD to put all my photos, documents, music, samples for music production and my music production programs. the usual.
Thanks

My android phone and just about every other that I've connected to PCs, are not removable via the "safely remove" icon or the "eject" option in Windows Explorer. It's not weird at all, it depends on how the storage(s) on the phones are mounted by Android or the mobile operating system, for access by the computer.

Oh I see. Thanks for your help man. I totally agree that after a while, you just feel the system needed a fresh restart as in format. My system is so "spent" that even my CD burner ceased to function correctly. It's pretty frustrating. But my Seagate Ext HD, Which is ALSO like 3 or 4 years old, has this detachable base that won't stay one. The AC adapter keeps turning off every second. I kind of got lucky because if I just replace the detachable base bottom, then I can recover everything in the drive and move it to a much bigger drive as I intend to. It's a 1TB, but I want to buy a 3TB now. I was surprised by the price of a 6TB I saw yesterday at Target. Memory is unbelievably so much cheaper than say 10 years ago. For backing up and storage, we are like kids in candy story today. So many options, sizes and mediums.
