Ok so, for over a year ive been using my xbox to stream video to my tv, i just got a new internet service and so a new router/modem.

i was having trouble connecting to some MW2 matches so i found out i had to enable UPNP for that to work.

but with upnp enabled, my 360 can no longer find my pc on the network.

after a lot of cursing, and checking other stuff that i thought could be wrong i disabled the upnp and the 360 found the pc as normal.

is there a way to leave UPNP enabled and have the 360 find my pc, or am i just going to have to toggle upnp each time i want to do that?

i dont know what a dmz is, i suppose ill look that up now.

edit- just judging from a description of what a dmz is im not sure if that is the solution.

according to what ive read a dmz is useful for when games arent compatible with NAT, the NAT issue wasnt with the xbox 360 but rather with the PC. enabling upnp fixed that issue, but now my 360 cant locate my pc on the network unless i disable the upnp. if the 360 had the nat problem a dmz seems like a good solution, but since it was the pc it seems like it would be a bit dangerous as that would leave the pc open to attack, right?

Actually, if it doesn't work in the DMZ, it won't work at all. The DMZ opens up all the ports, and is like having the unit connected directly to a modem.
