I bought a Windows XP Media Center 2005 recently in Oct. 2006.
The graphics card currently in it (Inter(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family) kinda sucks and I want to upgrade to an ATI Nvidia or GeForce because I can never play games I get because my chipset is not supported. I have the TV Tuner and all that jaz and an available PCI slot. I need to know some things before I upgrade.

1. Am I even able to upgrade?
2. Do I need to remove my current chipset?
3. Or do I just add my new card to the available PCI slot?
4. If I get a card with a TV Tuner, will my media center have errors when trying to use the TV?

Any other information I should know would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I just realized that I posted this in the wrong forum, sorry.

before i can say anything about upgrades.i would need to know a bit more about your pc.like make, and model of your motherboard.if its a prebuild like hp,dell, sony etc etc.tell us the model of your pc.from the chipset id say its an agp board, but some prebuilds dont even have the slot for the upgrade.

i looked your machine up on gateway, and it has a pci-x slot so you could upgrade your video.the specs on gateway says it has gma950 graphics which is an onboard chip.most likely if you add a video card you will also need a larger power supply.most computer makers only put one in big enough to power what they put in the computer.

Earlier today I went ahead to Future Shop and purchased a Vista ready ATI Radeon X1650 Pro. I just inserted into my extra slot and disabled my Intel. It works pretty good on my computer and I can run Call of Duty 2 very nicely.
