I am currently using a standard soundblaster pci card suplied with my dell 4100 system. I use some creative surround sound speakers and the standard pc speakers suplied with the system. In order for me to plug these to sets of speakers into my computer i need to use a spliter which reduces the sound quality a bit. Do you think its worth me purchasing a new sound card to make use of the surround sound capabilities of my cambridge speakers along the standard ones without the need for splitter?

If you want true surround sound get a sound card that has two outlets for right and left channels.
I am using a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and it's really a lot better than plain stereo.

Speedo is right. From what I've read the Tutrle Beach Santa Cruz cards are pretty good. I have a Creative SB Audigy and love it. I also had the SB Live when it first came out and that was also a great card.
