I have three computers (okay two, but am getting a new laptop today to add a third.

These are as follows:
Dell Inspiron Desktop which originally came with OEM Vista 32 HP, but now has Windows 7 32-bit RC 7100 on it.

Mesh box which has had OEM Vista HP 64-bit on it from new.

New Samsung laptop, which I'm assuming will arrive with Windows 7 OEM HP 32-bit.

I want to upgrade the dell to 32 bit Win7HP, and the Mesh and the Samsung to 64-bit Win7HP.

I don't have the original operating system disks as they were all OEM.

What is the best and cheapest way for me to upgrade my systems this way? Will the family pack be able to do it?

Wouldn't I need full versions for that?

How does the new OS know that I'm coming from a valid upgrade path?

As for the Mesh, do I really need to format/kill to upgrade from Vista-64HP to Win7-64HP?
