First you should check the hardware and software for compatability. you can do this by using the following switch: ie: d:\i386\winnt32 /checkupgradeonly from a command line (assuming D: is you cd drive)

/checkupgradeonly
Checks your computer for upgrade compatibility with Windows_2000. For Windows_95 or Windows_98 upgrades, Setup creates a report named Upgrade.txt in the Windows installation folder. For Windows_NT 3.51 or 4.0 upgrades, it saves the report to the Winnt32.log in the installation folder.

And also ensure the data is backed up before doing the upgrade just in case.

Welcome to the forum, hytech!

Since I am relatively familiar with your basic configurations (tee hee hee) I don't see any problems. You might want to download Tweak UI after so the people that have become acclimated to the auto log on will still have that feature. If you make any name changes to the new configs don't forget to add the new names to that fine Compaq server.

As for the Supermicro dual P3 server board, I wouldn't rely on it to work properly- that's why it's sitting there drawing dust.

If you need another reliable work station- use the Abit BP6 (in the same closet) with the celeron 400 (same area). That particular cele runs at 580 all day with the Alpha cooler that is there also. Get the bios settings from Steve's computer- It is the same config and is overclocked also. Bios has been flashed to run 2K.
