I try to upgrade my current nt system to xp, but when xp installation boots, just as it is about to start the upgrade, i get an error message saying it can't locate the system to upgrade.

I don't know how to fix the problem, any ideas would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I would recommend getting the latest service pack from MS for NT and try installing Xp again.

But if you ask me, I would say do a clean install. Wipe out your hard drive and start with a clean hard drive. This way, it will save you a lot of headaches down the road.

Hope this helps.

thanks,

I agree, it's probably better to do a clean install, both for my drive and psychologically.
