Updating my DVD drive Firmware. Help

2397 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  dai
This all started when I bought Battle for middle earth, for the PC.

And its a DVD ROM game. So it goes in my DVD drive.

So I put it in, and it takes absolutly ages for the game to be read. When I first got it I thought it wasnt working.

For some reason, my friend who has a crapper computer than me, says when he put his BFME disk in his DVD drive, it is read instantly.

So I phoned up EA and they said its probably old drivers. I need to update the firmware or something.

Basiclly I need help getting the latest drivers for my DVD drive. Thankoo :4-dontkno

That's their standard answer when they don't want to replace a faulty disc
Try the DVD in your friend's drive or any other PC. You don't need to install it, just see if its files are visible in Explorer.

Post back with details about your DVD drive and firmware version, and we'll try to find an update.
