I think some problems linked with my soundcard and DX9 may be BIOS related. The current BIOS is from July 2002. It is from American Megatrends 2.0Z, but that is all the information I've been able to gather on it. The motherboard is NEC Sis650 1.x, whihc isnt a lot but its all Ive been able to find out. I was also looking to get more RAM but Im not sure what type is required. All in all, I dont know very much and i can't get into the Packard Bell Support Forum so Im hoping someone can help out here.

Try going to the belarc website, it has a free program that analyses your system. It may give you some more info about what you've got.

I've used WCPUID for quite a long time to grab information on many systems I've worked with. It will list the chips on there, and should list some motherboard and memory information for you. This is free software, and is safe.
